Grand Hotel Continental - Siena

Location. The former palace Grand Hotel Continental is located in the shopping district of Siena, Italy, within 10 metres of Tolomei Palace and 200 metres from Piazza del Campo square.
Hotel Features. Originally built by architect Giovanni Fontana in the 17th century, the Grand Hotel Continental has been meticulously restored to combine baroque architecture and modern amenities. Frescoed ceilings adorn the lobby and public spaces, along with 18th century ornamental motifs, thick tapestries and ornate chandeliers. The hotel also boasts careful contemporary touches such as glass walled elevators. Both high speed and wireless Internet access are available throughout the hotel's public areas.

Sapordivino Wine Bar and Restaurant is covered by a glass dome overlooking the surrounding gardens. The menu features Tuscan dishes with paired wines from the medieval age wine cellar, where 3,000 bottles are stored.
